I take great pride in my garden, as I use it to supplement our grocery bill and to make beer & wine. This section will feature my family prepping, planting, caring for, and harvesting our garden through the years. This includes taking care of our chickens which provide eggs and fertilizer for my lawn and garden.

2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Winemaking, Part 1
Join us for our first of a two part series of making wine from our Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from our backyard vines. We have six Cabernet Sauvignon, and three Gewurztraminer grape vines. This year we harvested the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes on September 29th, and finished the process to let them sit for three months starting October 14th. In this part one, you will see us harvest, destem and crush the grapes. I forgot to record some steps in the process, but in future episodes I will be more on the ball.

Building Grape Vine Trellis’
It only took seven years,, but I finally put together this video from 2016, showing how I built my grape vine trellis’. I needed space for nine total vines: 3 Gewürztraminer and 6 Cabernet Sauvignon. I will be producing an update video, as the vines are much older now.
